Biospain 2016

On 28th-30th September 2016, the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) hosted the 8th edition of BioSpain, an international fair in which companies and research centres in biotechnology present their activities, both in their stands, as in individual meetings and through four parallel sessions of conferences. According to the organizers of the event (Asebio, Department of economic development and competitiveness of the Basque Government, BioBasque and the Basque Agency for enterprise development), the fair counted with the participation 140 exhibitors and a total of 1120 delegates of 608 entities.

Biospain 2016Leaflets and other dissemination material of LIFE microTAN project were available at INESCOP stand, and the project was presented in the one-to-one meetings held with different entities. Besides, on 29th September, INESCOP personnel participated in the final event of LIFE Seacolors project, held in the frame of BioSpain. At this event, LIFE microTAN project was presented as a potential BAT for the tanning industry.

Events "Waste tannery reuse in tanning sector"

EventoCGS2016Two dissemination events on waste tannery reuse were held on 14th July and 30th September 2016 at Biokimica company premises in Santa Croce sull'Arno (Italy). At these events, the impartance of the environmental impact of tannery wastes, their reuse and LIFE microTAN project activities and results were disseminated by CGS staff.

A total of 150 attendees participated in both events. Participants profiles included representatives and technicians from both tanning and tannery waste management companies as well as chemical suppliers, representatives of the Association of Tanning manufacturers and of the association of waste management companies, as well as local political representatives.

Ecofira 2016

IMG 0676From 28th  to 29th September 2016, the ECOFIRA International Trade Fair took place in Valencia, where the main latest developments in efficient environmental management were shown. During the fair, the microTAN project was presented at visitors.

In addition to the trade exhibition, on 28th September, the microTAN project was presented as an oral communication as a way to recover tannery wastes.


LINEAPELLE is the international fair for accessories, components, leathers, synthetics, fabrics and models for footwear, leather goods, clothing and furniture. The edition of September 2016, held at Milan Rho Fair, received over 21,000 visitors from 110 nations worldwide.

In this event, CGS staff distribuited project brochures and promoted the project activities and results meeting around 60 representatives and technicians of tanning companies and chemical suppliers, local political representatives, and representatives of the Association of Tanning manufacturers.CGS LINEAPELLE2016
